Family Equality Council is the national non-profit organization committed to securing family equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer parents, guardians and allies. They accomplish their work through a combination of strategic initiatives, groundbreaking training programs and legislative work.
RennaComm staff has worked with Family Equality Council for over two years and have played an important role in significantly raising the organization’s visibility during that period. As Family Pride’s agency of record, we provide a variety of services, including crisis communications, day-to-day media outreach, ongoing strategic communications planning, and media training.
When Family Equality Council found themselves at the center of a media firestorm regarding their work organizing families to attend the 2006 White House Easter Egg Roll, Renna Communications sprang into action, creating a detailed and strategic media plan. Overall, RennaComm helped Family Equality Council leverage the crisis into primarily positive media coverage worth well over $1 million, reaching more than 16.5 million people by television alone.
